Thought I'd give a little update of our week at the Krummenacher house.
-Brent has been very busy getting the new shop ready and still working everyday at the one we have running now. He still manages to get up early everyday to work out which is something I have neglected but am getting back to it tomorrow. No, really!
-The boys have been playing basketball every Saturday with practices during the week. Nate has improved a little every year which gives us hope for Jake who is still very timid. We are proud of them both for trying. Little league tryouts are coming this Saturday. This means we will be very busy with baseball soon. I dread the baseball season because it's so busy but always end up enjoying the games because the weather is usually nice that time of the year and it's nice to just sit and talk with all the other parents while watching the games.
-We had our primary activity day planned for this coming up Saturday but when the baseball tryouts got switched to this week we had to make some quick changes since that would take away half of our boys in the primary. My primary president was out of town when we found this out so I had to change it without her knowledge. I was so worried she would be upset but luckily she was happy about it because it gives us more time to get things ready for it. We will be doing a P.J.'S party (Prayer, Journals, Scriptures). We have probably gone a little overboard on what we are doing for the kids. I am busy getting the journals ready to give to the kids. I ordered them online for only $1.00 a piece but when they came I didn't like the look of them so I am painting all 90 of them and then making a little cover sheet that says "I Am a Child of God" on it with a quote by Pres. Hinkley about writing in journals to go in each one. The worst part is I have the easy assignment. My primary pres. is making each child a scripture bag and the 2nd counselor is making a prayer rock for each child. Hopefully the kids will enjoy the activity.
-Sunday Brent, Sarah, Rebecca and I sang in Sacrament Meeting. Brent is the music chairman and didn't have a musical number so we pulled this together on Saturday. Actually, we were all different places on Saturday so when we went to practice with our accompianist I'm sure she was wondering how in the world we were going to pull it off because we had no clue what we were doing. So after our date that night Brent and I put some 3 part harmony in the song and then got up early enough to practice over and over while we all got ready for 8:00am church. I can't believe we pulled it off! We had a lot of nice compliments.
-Sunday night we had a get together with my family. Matt and Becky are moving to Utah so we wanted one last get together before they leave. We are so sad they are moving. Now only half of us are left here in town if you count Todd and Jen in North Tucson. We really hope for the best for Matt and Becky and are happy that Becky will get some time with her family.
-Tonight we were invited to go bowling with our friends, the McGraths for their son's birthday. We had a great time and I think Jake came in second place for the kids (and some adults-I won't mention names). The kids plus John their cousin stayed up late last night making up birthday songs for Sam (the birthday boy). They had a lot of fun doing it and I think it made Sam happy ( a little embarrased, but happy). It's great to have such close friends in the ward.
-Sunday during church Maddie, the McGrath's daughter who is 7 years old handed us some lyrics she wrote to a song that she said she has been working on for a long time. We all couldn't believe how good she did for being only 7 so the girls made up some music to go with it and recorded it for Maddie. I thought it was really cute so I'm posting it here for anyone who wants to listen. Rebecca is playing the guitar and both Sarah and Rebecca are singing. I think it's time to get Rebecca some guitar lessons. She has been making up songs on the guitar for the last few months and doing pretty well with no lessons whatsoever. It would be nice for her to actually know how to play it so she can do more than 3 chords. I wish My Life Was a Fairytale.m4a

How do you find the time? You are such a great mom!
Totally love the song. I'm majorly impressed with the three girls. Way to go!
You guys are so amazing at music--first the FABULOUS song in sacrament meeting and now that song sung to maddie's lyrics. Amazing! And wow to Maddie--great lyrics.
That is a good song. I think it is great that they put music to the words that she wrote. She would probably love to get lessons but I agree that she has a good start.
