Today Jake got to demonstrate how to make popsicles for his class. We made some in advance for him to share with his class last night. Actually, I just wanted to make sure he actually knew how to make them! He said he did a good job. I'm proud of him for not being afraid to do it in front of his class.
I have wonderful memories of going to my Grandma Willis' house and eating these popsicles that she made for us. We looked forward to them during the summer every time we went to visit her. When my kids were younger, I would take them to visit her and she would have the popsicles made for them too. I love that they got to share in the joy of my grandma's popsicles! Seriously, the best popsicles ever!
Here's the recipe just in time for the summer:
Nate came home with an award from school today. He said he was really surprised he got it and I hate to say it but Brent and I were too.
He was one of only about six kids in the sixth grade to recieve the "Outstanding Sixth Grade Math Student" award. He has said every once in awhile through out the year that he likes math. Hopefully this gives him a little boost in his confidence in the subject. (Can you tell by his blue teeth that he ate a popsicle right before I took the picture?)
