Okay, so we didn't really have a quincenera for Sarah but we did have a mini Mexican celebration for her. The morning started with us hearing blasting Mexican polka music coming from the front yard. We went outside to see what all the ruckus was about and low and behold it was Sarah's Grandma Krummenacher dancing up to the door to the music that was blasting out of the truck, holding a Mexican flag. I was so mad I didn't have my video camera playing because it was so dang funny.
Sarah went to a movie, lunch and shopping with her friend, Lindsay during the day but I got a call from her a little earlier than expected asking to be picked up because the electricity went out at the whole Tempe Market Place while they were in the movie theater there. Luckily Harkins gave everyone two movie passes to come back another time. She said she still had a lot of fun.
That evening my whole family came over for our own little quincenera celebration. We ordered a big platter from Someburros, had a pinata, and let the kids play on the big water slide. Here are a few highlights:

Cute Regan kickin' back in the kiddie pool.

Poor Regan got kicked out of the pool by...everyone else!

Nate and Brennan on the slide

Brooke's action shot

Brooke, Jake, Jadyn, Kate and Bridget waiting patiently for their turn

Sarah and Ashley hiding out in the office while the others were enjoying the slide

Is she too old for this? Better yet, is everyone in the picture too old for this???

Rebecca and Nate spent most of the day before the party planning a little show. They learned "Happy Birthday" in spanish and taught the rest of the cousins. Then they danced to to the song Glenna danced to earlier that day. If you look closely you can see Nate's painted on mustache. Nice touch Nate!
Finally, here is Sarah blowing out the candles on her rice krispy treat cake her wonderful Aunt Kristen made for her.

First of all, oh my, Sarah is just BEAUTIFUL in that first picture!! I can't believe she is growing up so fast(I am such a mom.) and I loved the crown picture too. Here's a laugh for ya, clueless me, I had to look up QuinceaƱera. I am such a dork. Now I am clued in. BTW, I don't think anyone could be too old for a pinata. And oh, how I wished I could have seen Glenna dancing up to the house--what a cool grandma your kids have. AND I loved Nate's mustache--first thing I noticed in the picture.
What a fun celebration! I'm tellin' ya Laura, you have got some of the best kids in town! I will be the happiest person alive if my kids turn out as sweet, loving, and well-behaved as yours are. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SARAH!!!
