WHY did we want to own our own business???!!!

Two words... drug addicted employee getting high in the bathroom, paramedics, workers not showing up, etc, etc, etc. Okay, that was more than 2 words but it's been a terrible couple of days and I can't wait for our trip tomorrow!

Laura Needs...

Kristen did this on her blog and I thought it was funny. You type in your name and then the word: "needs" after it in google search. Here are some of my favorites about my family:

Laura needs...25 cents and two fingers.
Laura needs...consolation after being dumped by King George II.
Laura needs...to take that woman to lunch or better yet, sit on her porch.

Nate needs...a haircut
Nate needs...rehab
Nate needs... to strap a Gio on his back and hop around Graumans for a few hours.

Brent needs... to examine his self-proclaimed Godly status (seriously this was the first one that came up)
Brent needs... to examine his fixation with male homosexuality and ask himself why he finds it so threatening. (this came up fourth)
Brent needs...a vacation

Rebecca needs...seriously you have to look up hers for yourself because it's kinda funny but I'm not writing these things in my blog!
Rebecca needs...a family
Rebecca needs...a prayer

Sarah needs...a cold shower
Sarah needs...a date
Sarah needs...her glasses and her brother

Jake needs...a woman
Jake needs...2 phones to talk to grammy
Jake needs...a beating

The real birthday celebration...

Okay, so we didn't really have a quincenera for Sarah but we did have a mini Mexican celebration for her. The morning started with us hearing blasting Mexican polka music coming from the front yard. We went outside to see what all the ruckus was about and low and behold it was Sarah's Grandma Krummenacher dancing up to the door to the music that was blasting out of the truck, holding a Mexican flag. I was so mad I didn't have my video camera playing because it was so dang funny.

Sarah went to a movie, lunch and shopping with her friend, Lindsay during the day but I got a call from her a little earlier than expected asking to be picked up because the electricity went out at the whole Tempe Market Place while they were in the movie theater there. Luckily Harkins gave everyone two movie passes to come back another time. She said she still had a lot of fun.
That evening my whole family came over for our own little quincenera celebration. We ordered a big platter from Someburros, had a pinata, and let the kids play on the big water slide. Here are a few highlights:

Cute Regan kickin' back in the kiddie pool.

Poor Regan got kicked out of the pool by...everyone else!

Nate and Brennan on the slide

Brooke's action shot

Brooke, Jake, Jadyn, Kate and Bridget waiting patiently for their turn

Sarah and Ashley hiding out in the office while the others were enjoying the slide

Is she too old for this? Better yet, is everyone in the picture too old for this???

Rebecca and Nate spent most of the day before the party planning a little show. They learned "Happy Birthday" in spanish and taught the rest of the cousins. Then they danced to to the song Glenna danced to earlier that day. If you look closely you can see Nate's painted on mustache. Nice touch Nate!

Finally, here is Sarah blowing out the candles on her rice krispy treat cake her wonderful Aunt Kristen made for her.

Happy 15th Birthday Sarah!

Sarah's Quincenera was fabulous. Thanks to all who attended and helped out! She will never forget it!

Brent's new favorite treat: butter!

We went to Monti's for dinner last night with my family. Kristen has been saying that she hates butter and that she's very surprised I never knew that. I in fact did not know that and am very dissapointed in my sister. Brent couldn't get over it either so we've been teasing her a little too much about it. This is Brent proving to Kristen how good butter is while we were at Monti's.

Fun in the rain

We had a huge rain storm about a week ago. I didn't have my camera but I noticed Kristen posted these pictures on her blog so I had to steal them from her. (Thanks Kris!) We have had a blast with the Danielsons in town! We were having a family get together at my mom's when the kids saw the rain POURING down. They all ran and got their swimming suits on to go play in it. I love that about summer showers! The kids actually were a little cold! Very wierd for July in AZ!
Here are Todd, Kristen and I enjoying the rain while keeping nice and dry on the front porch. It was nice being able to just sit and chat while we watched the rain and the very excited kids play.

How much fun are the Krummenachers?!

We have had cousin time like crazy around here. Kristen and her family have been in town and Kelly and her family came for about a week. We had a fun water party with the Krummenachers last Saturday. The kids all had tons of fun with their cousins. Can't wait for the Beechers to move here so we can have a party every week! I'm sure Glenna would LOVE that!
I think the adults were all wishing they were kids again.
You can't have a Krummenacher party without a cousins skit...

Fourth of July (a little late)

We spent the fourth at the Dobson Krazy Sub with my family and then later Brent's family and others joined us. We ended up with quite a group by the end of the night! The kids were a little disappointed in the fireworks because we've been so spoiled with Central Christian's fireworks every year but we made up for it with unlimited drinks and ice cream and most importantly, a bathroom!
Crazy Cousins
Sarah and Brent worked together all day so they were happy to have us all come and join them.
The cute Danielson family
Mom and Dad with Reagan
Brennan and Rebecca with Sarah in the background playing the Wii that we had set up at Krazy Sub.
Handsome Jake and his beautiful cousin Brooke.
Here are Brent, Frank and Jeff all hanging out before the fireworks began.

Fun with Cousins

Rebecca was getting her video camera ready to take to camp and she found this. She was mad that Nate and the cousins got hold of her camera. She told me I had to post it to get back at Nate so here you go...(my poor kids are never safe).

Best 37th Brithday Ever

I loved my birthday! I didn't have to work, Glenna made me breakfast, I got to go out to lunch and pedicures with my favorite sister and great friend, and then dinner with my family. Brent made my favorite lemon raspberry cheesecake for dessert and then my family just all sat around and talked and laughed. This is my idea of a perfect birthday! Thanks everyone for making it so great!

Sisters Trip to L.A.

Santi Alley
Kicking back at the beach
Glenna on our way to Wicked laughing at the "wicked" man. (I love this picture!)

Every year Brent's mom and sisters go on a trip together that they call "the sisters trip". They have been really nice to invite me every year but I have only been once because for some reason I always feel guilty spending money on myself and leaving my family. This year I decided to tag along and I'm so glad I did. Brent has a really fun family and we always have a great time together.

We left for L.A. on Friday morning. Once we got there we met up with Kelly who flew in from Utah and Brent's cousin William who lives there. We all went to lunch then off to Santi Alley. I got myself a purse which I'm still trying to talk myself into (Glenna and Kim feel the same about their purses). The next day we spent at the beach. I made a hole to lay in with a nice cushion for my head out of sand. I most definitely was the most comfortable one on the whole beach. The problem with the hole though was that I wasn't able to turn over. I also only put sunscreen on my face and neck. After 2 hours at the beach I ended up pretty red. I still have problems lifting up my arms and sleeping. I told Brent's mom and sisters that the next time they hear me tell them that I don't tan or burn, they need to remind me of my stupid bed in the sand.

That night we went to see Wicked. I LOVED it! I've been listening to the music non-stop ever since. I think my family is starting to get tired of it but I don't care, I'm gonna listen to my Wicked music as much as I want and enjoy every second of it. Best part is that Steve was very, very generous and paid for all of our tickets. I can't thank him enough for this! I really have the best in-laws anybody could ask for.

Here are the top ten things I loved about the sisters trip:
10. Free ice cream at the beach
9. Ear plugs
8. Target within walking distance
7. Kim's favorite word
6. Glenna's beach chair
5. "Excuse me for living!"
4. Brent's texts
3. Glenna posing next to the devil guy
2. Glenna being asked if she wanted to be on a t.v. show and her quick response: "uh, no."
1. Wicked
Help me out girls, I know there are many many more but I can't think of them this late.
Thank you, Krummenacher women for a great trip. I had a fabulous time with all of you. Hugs to all!
(hopefully I'll get the pictures posted soon, I'm too tired tonight.)
