New Year's Resolutions

If you know me, you know I HATE pictures of myself. Mainly because I'm not happy with the way I look. I thought this would be a good picture for my New Year's post because it WILL be my BEFORE picture. This time next year, I plan on looking like a new woman. (Isn't Mexico beautiful?) Glenna challenged everyone in the family to make nine goals for the new year so that's just what we did last night for family night. I liked Megan's blog where she revisited her goals from last year and checked off the ones she did. Hopefully I'll remember to do that next year and if I do remember, hopefully I'll be able to check some off. So here they are:
  1. Eat better (duh)
  2. Exercise at least 4 times a week (again duh)
  3. Read scriptures everyday. Sorry to disappoint those who thought I did this already. Everyday is hard!
  4. Make dinner at least 5 times a week. (These goals are very telling aren't they?)
  5. Drink more water than Diet Pepsi. (this is for you mom)
  6. Be more thoughtful of others
  7. Go to bed earlier (I'll start tomorrow)
  8. Get my photos in albums
  9. Family Home Evening EVERY week

Here are a few of the rest of the family's goals:

Nate: 1. Don't eat too much Taco Bell. 2. Love more holy things (he was making fun of Sarah). 3. On the phone, instead of saying I love you at the end of a call, say it at the beginning. (he was making fun of a lady on the news). By this point I told him he had to come up with some serious ones. 4. Do chores without being asked. 5. Don't go on the computer too much. 6. Don't watch too much t.v.

Sarah: 1. Love more holy things (She liked this goal after someone suggested it in testimony meeting) 2. Personal progress completion. 3. exercise more often and eat better. 4. Have a closer relationship with Heavenly Father.

Rebecca: 1. Not say the "C" word (crap). 2. Eat healthier. 3. Not call Spice (our dog) stupid. 4. eat fruit as a dessert. 5. Have a close relationship with Heavenly Father. 6. Read scriptures every night. 7. Not eat chocolate. 8. Not yell. 9. one can of soda per month. (she had more but I'll stop here)

Jake: 1. Make A. R. goal earlier. 2. Don't go on the computer as much. 3. Do my chores every day.

Brent: 1. Have more faith. 2. Get better eating and work out habits. 3. Read a good book. 4. Be a better example.

I love that picture. I'm so impressed you posted it (Mexico is beautiful!) I would have photoshopped myself down to a size 2. 4 pounds--way to go. Cause I'm almost ready to give you my old pants--I wish!

You've inspired me to set some goals too. Although I don't think I'm going to post them--maybe I don't want that much accountability.

K, maybe I do need to write my goals down for more accountability--I just messed up on "being better at remembering all important birthdays." It was my niece's birthday yesterday--totally forgot. Oh well. . . :)

Good luck with all of that. Glad you got a chance to read our blog. Don't feel bad I don't update as often as I should.
