I'm sick of sickness around here!

We've had sick child after sick child after sick adult around here for a few weeks. Nothing major, just colds that seem to keep us down for a few days. Rebecca got it first two Fridays ago. She still had a fever on Monday and Tuesday so we kept her home. I was so nervous to do this since there were only a few days of school left but she did fine and got all her work done. Nate got it a few days after Rebecca but seemed to do a little better than she did. He just kept taking cold medicine and seemed to do fine. I got it on Monday. I was fine as long as I had my Excedrin but if I ever lapsed on that, I was feeling pretty crummy. On Wednesday I was doing a little better with the cold when a stupid stomach ache kept coming and going all day. I tossed and turned all night when I finally started poking around in my stomach to see if it hurt more in one spot over other spots. Sure enough, as I hit my right side, I about flew out of the bed it hurt so much. After just going through the appendicitis thing with Nate, I kind of knew it was my appendix. I woke Brent up and told him, "Crap Brent!, It's on my right side!" I had a little hope that it might be something else but thought I'd better get it checked anyway because I remembered the doctor telling me with Nate that if it burst he would be in the hospital for around five days compared to only over night if it didn't burst. At five in the morning I got up, showered, cleaned my house, got the kids off to school, went and made four dozen cookies for Nate's class party, dropped off stuff at both the junior high and the elementary school, then had my friend drop me off at the emergency room. I figured if it was appendicitis, I'd better get everything done first. Sure enough, after drinking 32 ounces of some really gross iodine stuff and having a cat scan, the doctor said it was definitely appendicitis. She was a little concerned because they thought they saw that it was abscessed but luckily it turned out to just be scar tissue from my hysterectomy last December. Seriously, this was the worst possible time for me to get this because all of our employees had to be at graduation the next day and I was scheduled to work all day and all night. We got it all figured out, I had my surgery, I'm now home and all is well. Except for my Jake is now sick! He came home from playing at cousin's yesterday at around 3pm and went straight to bed. He had a really high fever all night and right now he's in my bed sleeping. Will it ever end?! I figure we have two people left in the house to get it and then we'll be done. Crossing my fingers they stay healthy because I'm sick of it!
